Judges & Volunteers

Judges Training 2023-2024

Thank you for volunteering to judge for Delaware Odyssey of the Mind!

Without you it would not possible to put on our tournaments. Our creative students from schools and organizations across the state are depending on you and we appreciate the time you are willing to give us and this program.

There are three components to judges training. All judges, both new and experienced, must complete all three components.

The first component is an online General Training.

This training is required for all judges as judges must be certified/re-certified each year.

The online training is a narrated, one-hour PowerPoint presentation that has been uploaded to YouTube. You can watch the training at any time. The PowerPoint is linked here.

If you have any questions, please email training@deootm.org.

The second component of judges training is the certification test.

After you complete the online training module, you need to take a 20-question multiple-choice test to confirm participation in the online training component.

Online Training is not considered complete until the certification test is submitted.

The third component to judges training is a Problem Specific Training.

Training is be In-Person for the 2023-2024 competition season. These sessions will be run by our Problem Captains on:

These sessions will be held at Lake Forest Central Elementary School from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Problem Captains will contact you to provide meeting information.

You only need to attend ONE of these sessions.

You also should review the Odyssey of the Mind Program Guide.

Lastly, you will need to appear to judge the Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, March 13, 2024.

Please allocate all day for our event.

Judges who will also judge the State Finals Tournament will need to have Saturday, April 13, 2024, available as well.

Thank you again for volunteering to support creativity and the students in Delaware!
